Think being the parents of a teenager is hard?
Try Being a teenager….
All stages of childhood are important…
But none are so critical as the teenage years. This is the moment in time where all of us were just trying to find who we were and where we belonged. To that end, Whitney Church of Christ is dedicated to keeping a vibrant and active youth group with plenty of activities to keep the mind focused and the heart in tune with God.
Keep your eye out here to find out what special events are happening involving our junior high and high school students. We don’t take a break during the school year and only have events during the summer; we strive to be active year-round.
Brothers & Sisters 4 Life Youth Group
Started in 2022, this youth group adds even more activities for young people throughout the year. Encompassing not just Bible study, the group also gives practical day-to-day living skills like learning to cook, basic mechanical skills like auto maintenance and home repair, and civic-minded activities to impart valuable knowledge to our young people. Better-prepared young people make for more adaptable adults, able to face the challenges of life armed with a little more knowledge and skill.
LCU encounter
Located on the campus of Lubbock Christian University, this week-long session offers high school youth group members the chance to develop a strong spiritual connection to God.
Lads to leaders
More than just Bible Bowl, the national Lads to Leaders organization, founded in 1968, has been preparing young men and women to learn skills and hone talents for future generations of church leadership. Whitney Church of Christ is new to this organization, first participating in Spring 2025 and we look forward to greater involvement in the future.
Hensel christian youth camp
New to Whitney Church of Christ, our youth group will attend summer camp at Hensel CYC. Founded on the Hensel Ranch in 1965, the camp sits on 337 sprawling acres in scenic Marble Falls, TX.
DFW 2025 Summer youth series
Since the 1970s, the Churches of Christ in DFW have hosted the Summer Youth Series on Tuesday nights and this year they are back in action after last year’s cancellation. Rides will be provided, but meals will be students’ responsibility.
Summer youth activities
During the summer, many activities are on the schedule to keep teenagers engaged from devotionals to service events. Teenagers are given plenty of choices to keep themselves spiritually fit and their relationship with God healthy.
